Guest Author - Veterinarian Dr. Beatrix Nanai
Dr. Nanai was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary. She graduated from the University of Veterinary Sciences, Hungary, Budapest in 1998, where she completed a small animal rotating internship following graduation.
In 2001 she relocated to the United States and passed the ECFVG requirements. In 2003 she completed a small animal surgical externship in South Carolina. In 2007, following a 3-year neurology/neurosurgery residency in Fort Pierce, Florida, she became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Neurology/ Neurosurgery.
Currently she is finishing her second specialty training through the American and the European College of Veterinary Surgeons while practicing at Miami Veterinary Specialists.
Dr. Nanai is author of several peer-reviewed veterinary neurology related publications. Her special areas of interest are neurosurgery and the use of advanced diagnostic modalities such as MRI, electrodiagnostics and intra-operative ultrasound.
In her spare time she likes to read neurology related articles and travel to Hungary to see her family.
