Natural Treatment

• 1). To regulate your intraocular pressure, incorporate more omega-3 fatty acids into your diet. Eat more foods, such as safflower and flax seed, that contain omega-3 fatty acids. Try to incorporate these types of food into at least one meal a day to start.
  
  
• 2). Increase the level of omega-3 fatty acids in your body by taking a supplement, such as a flax seed supplement.
  
  
• 3). Avoid relying on fish oil for your daily dose of omega-3 fatty acids. Heavy metal toxicity has been associated with fish oil, along with risks of other contaminants.
  
  
• 4). Rely on flax seed and flax oil for your daily dose of omega-3 fatty acids. Flax is described as "the richest source for omega fatty acids" by Jade Beutler, a top health care practitioner in his field. In fact, flaxseed oil contains twice the omega-3 fatty acids as fish oil, and it's more reliable, pure, potent, and inexpensive.
  
  

Medical Treatment

• 1). If you feel you may be suffering from increased intraocular pressure, visit your eye doctor right away, and follow her course of treatment. Glaucoma is a serious risk, and medical treatment may be necessary to decrease or regulate intraocular pressure.
  
  
• 2). Treat the pressure with prescribed eye drops. Most patients are given glaucoma eye drops to regular intraocular pressure and prevent damage to the optic nerve caused by the increased pressure. Eye drops are effective for patients without medical conditions such as heart and breathing issues and are often the first course of treatment for glaucoma. Follow your eye doctor's instructions for using glaucoma eye drops.
  
  
• 3). Undergo surgery. This may be recommended if glaucoma drop are ineffective. Laser treatment and traditional surgery that involves cutting in the eye have been proven effective in reducing intraocular pressure. Laser surgery is often recommended for patients who have limited damage to the optic nerve from intraocular pressure. If the pressure is high or the nerve has been severely damaged, traditional surgery will most likely be necessary. Follow all your doctor's instructions before and after surgery.
  
  
• 4). If glaucoma drops and surgery are not recommended or ineffective, try recommended experimental treatments. Experimental treatments are typically still in the clinical trial stage. Be sure you understand all the risks before undergoing an experimental treatment, and follow your doctor's instructions very carefully.
