How to Paint Clouds in a Bedroom

    • 1). Mix four parts faux finishing glaze to one part white latex paint in a bucket or paint tray. Stir the mixture well. You can also use an oil-based paint, but it takes longer to dry.

    • 2). Place your sea sponge under cool running water. Squeeze the sponge out well, it only needs to be damp to do this project.

    • 3). Dip the sea sponge into the paint mixture and dab it onto a clean cloth to remove excess paint. This helps to give the clouds a transparent, airy feel.

    • 4). Experiment by placing the sea sponge onto a piece of cardboard or spare wood. Use light pressing motions, and move your hand back and forth to create the cloud shapes you desire. Once you have the technique down, move to the wall or ceiling area to create your clouds.

    • 5). Paint one or two clouds onto the wall or ceiling area in a random fashion. You really cannot mess up, since clouds often have odd shapes.

    • 6). Step back to admire your work often. This will help you decide where other clouds are needed before completing the area.
