How to Pay Estimated Taxes With a Credit Card
- 1). Enroll in the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System, or EFTPS (See Resources). To make estimated tax payments by credit card, you must be enrolled in this service. Follow the instructions to enroll, which only takes about five minutes.
- 2). Click on the "Make a Payment" button at the bottom of the page. Enter your log-in name and password on this page. Without first logging into your EFTPS account, you will be unable to make your estimated tax payment.
- 3). Follow the prompts to make your payment by credit card online. The EFTPS site is secure and your credit card and personal information will not be shared with third parties. Once you've entered your credit card payment information, click on the "Submit" button to make your payment.
