The Pros and Cons of An Airport Car Rental
As someone who does a lot of traveling, I have often utilized the convenient, if not somewhat costly, creature comfort known as the airport car rental.
While there are many things that I love about taking advantage of these facilities, there are some downsides as well.
One of the biggest advantages for me is the proximity to the airport.
Usually, I can find an airport car rental within a block of the airport.
This makes it so much easier to plan out your itinerary when you arrive at your destination, because that part of the trip is already out of the way.
Another great thing about an airport car rental is that you can often rent a car as part of a package with airline tickets and a hotel room.
I have found this to be particularly convenient because I often have to plan business trips at the last minute and it is good to have everything that I need already taken care of before I arrive at the location I am visiting.
I have also found that on a family vacation, it makes it a lot easier to rent from an airport car rental, because you are bringing the whole family with you and people are tired once they arrive.
The prospect of having to have to get a cab ride to the hotel and find a car afterwards is not usually too appealing.
There are some drawbacks, however, that go along with airport car rental facilities that I have found in my years of travel.
First and foremost, the cost can be higher than renting at a facility that is not as close to the airport, or at least that has been my experience.
I have noticed that it does cost more to rent from an airport car rental, and that means less money to spend on your trip.
Another disadvantage that I have experienced when utilizing an airport car rental facility is that they are typically pretty crowded.
Because they are so convenient, a lot of people want to take advantage of them, and it is not always easy to get the car you want.
For me, the last thing that I want to do when I get to my destination is have to wait for 45 minutes to an hour to rent my car.
I guess it really all comes down to what you're looking for when you travel, but for me, there are advantages and disadvantages to using an airport car rental facility.
