How do I Clean Home Water Pipes?
- 1). Scoop up the water from the sink with a bucket. Dispose of the water in the toilet. Continue doing this until the sink is free of water.
- 2). Go beneath the sink. Unscrew the drain stopper from the water pipe below the sink. Pull the stopper out of the sink and place it aside.
- 3). Unwrap the top ends of the wire coat hanger using the jaws of the pliers. Straighten out the wire coat hanger using your hands. Clamp the jaws of the pliers about four inches from an end of the straightened out wire coat hanger. Twist the end into a hook.
- 4). Insert the coat hanger's hook into the hole in the sink. Push the coat hanger down into the drain, twisting the hanger between your fingers as you push it.
- 5). Slowly pull the coat hanger out of the drain. Continue pulling until the hook emerges from the drain.
- 6). Remove the soap residue, hair and other contaminants from the hook with a wad of toilet paper. Toss the toilet paper in the trash. Repeat this procedure with the hook again.
- 7). Place the stopper back into the hole in the sink. Screw the stopper back into the pipe from the bottom. Run water in the sink to see that the water pipe is clear.
