Where is Green Spain?

Question: Where is Green Spain?

I have heard the name 'Green Spain' talked about, but I don't know where Green Spain is. The only Spain I've seen is quite barren - so where is this 'Green Spain'?

Answer: In the southwest corner of Spain, above Portugal (and directly across the Atlantic from Boston), are the provinces of Galicia and Asturias - this is the area known a 'Green Spain'.

It is still the least traveled and least well-known part of the country and it doesn’t look like anyone’s idea of sun-drenched, white-towned Spain: it is lush and green and looks more like Ireland.

In fact, the Celts came to this part of the world almost 3,000 years ago and the locals still play a bagpipe-like instrument. The local language, as well as the wine and food, have a flavor all their own.
