    University of Arkansas

    • With six campuses across the state, the University of Arkansas is by far the largest college or university in Arkansas. The school has a student body of almost 20,000 and awards almost 3,800 degrees each year from eight colleges. The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville fields 17 men's and women's athletic teams in 12 sports. The Arkansas Razorbacks compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association in the Southeastern Conference.

    Harding University

    • Harding University is in Searcy, about halfway between Little Rock and Memphis, Tennessee. The school is a private Christian institution associated with the Church of Christ. Harding has a student body of more than 6,600 and offers 10 undergraduate degrees in 90 areas of study. The school also offers 10 graduate and professional degrees. Harding University has 16 men's and women's athletic teams that compete in 10 sports. The school competes in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association in the Gulf South Conference.

    Arkansas State Mountain Home

    • Arkansas State University Mountain Home is near the Missouri border. The school offers two-year associate of arts degrees and general courses that can be transferred to four-year institutions. Arkansas State Mountain Home offers classes in four divisions: arts and mathematics, technology and business, natural and health sciences and social science and education. The school does not have any athletic teams.
