How to Get Rid of the Redness in Pimples

    • 1). Wash your face twice a day with facial cleanser. After each cleansing, apply the non-comedogenic lotion to your skin. The cleanser will help clear pores, while the lotion will help keep the skin from drying out and becoming flaky.

    • 2). Place the ice cube in the plastic baggie and hold it against the pimple for about ten minutes. This will help reduce redness and soothe irritation. Remove any moisture left behind on your skin.

    • 3). Apply the benzoyl peroxide cream to the pimple every other day. Benzoyl peroxide is anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, so it will destroy the infection and tone down the redness. Be sure to follow the application directions on the label.

    • 4). Put a small amount of hydrocortisone cream on a cotton swab and gently dab the pimple only. Do not apply it to the surrounding skin. This will help reduce the inflammation.
