Our dry and dead skin cells mix with the oil created from our bodies and blocks the pores, creating acne.

Sadly, most people that dry out their skin are only trying to get rid of the oil that they think is the cause of their pimples, but in doing so, they dry out their skin creating more acne.

Dry skin and acne tips

Exfoliate once a week. If you've never done this before, what you will need is a light scrubber (preferably one without bristles), and simply while your taking a shower, slowly and gently take the scrub over the affected areas and rub in a clockwise motion.

Now, you can't rub away acne, that's not what we're trying to do here.

The benefits of exfoliating is that when we do it, we are getting rid of the dead skin cells (and overly dry skin) and making way for new and healthy skin to come in and replace the old. Giving your complexion a healthier, clearer look.

You have to be careful not to do this to often as it could lead to doing more harm than good if you try to practice this more than once a week.

Fighting acne dry skin with oil. You know that your body produces oil that can be harmful to the skin when mixed with dry or dead skin. What you don't know is that there are two types of oil that when used together, bond to the oil, dirt, and dry skin that is already on the skins surface. These oils are Castor oil and Olive oil.

When these oils are removed, they take what they bonded to with them. That means that oil, skin, and dirt that was in the pores is pulled out. The oil is also helpful to the skin by providing moister. So its a win-win all around.

To use these oils, combine 1/4 tsp. of Castor oil with 1/2 tsp. of olive oil, then massage it into the skin for with your fingers allowing it to sit for 2 to 3 minutes. Using a warm to hot water washcloth, place it across the face and let the steam of the cloth open up the pores. Once the cloth cools, then wipe away the rest of the oils off of the skin.

So, does dry skin cause acne? Yes, but its only half of the problem, and there are plenty of ways to prevent it.
