How Do I Kill Gilgamesh in "Final Fantasy XII"?

    First Battle

    • 1). Confront Gilgamesh at the Tasche Span in the Lhusu Mines. Start the battle by casting Shell, Protect and Haste on all of your characters in order to give yourself an immediate advantage over Gilgamesh and Enkidu.

    • 2). Destroy Enkidu before focusing on Gilgamesh. Cast Blind and Silence on him, and then smash him with physical attacks.

    • 3). Cure your characters after defeating Enkidu, and recast Shell, Protect and Haste if they have worn off.

    • 4). Focus your offensive on Gilgamesh. Cast the Slow spell on Gilgamesh every so often in order to decrease the frequency of his attacks. In this first battle, Gilgamesh is relatively strong against most magics, so it is best to destroy him with a physical onslaught.

    • 5). Heal your characters during the period when Gilgamesh gets weak and casts the Perfect Defense spell on himself, making him immune to all attacks. The Perfect Defense spell wears off after Gilgamesh uses his deadly monarch sword attack twice.

    • 6). Continue to pound Gilgamesh with physical attacks once the spell wears off until he runs away.

    Second Battle

    • 1). Obtain the Site 11 key from the Phon Coast, and return to the Lhusu Mines.

    • 2). Unlock the gate at the back of Site 9, and confront Gilgamesh in Site 11.

    • 3). Cast Haste, Protect and Shell to start the battle just as you did the first time.

    • 4). Defeat Enkidu before attacking Gilgamesh. Cast Blind on Enkidu to decrease his hit percentage, and then focus all of your physical attacks on him until he is beaten. Dispel can also help lower Enkidu's speed and defense. This battle is much harder than the first, so pay extra attention to your character's hit points as you fight Enkidu.

    • 5). Cast Bio and Darkaga on Gilgamesh while one character fights him at close range. Casting Expose on Gilgamesh can lower his defense and make him easier to beat. Gilgamesh will cast level-specific spells, which will only work on characters whose level is a multiple of the number attached to the spell (for example: Level 2 Sleep only works on any characters with a level that is a multiple of two). In order to avoid these spells entirely, fight Gilgamesh when your characters are at a level that is not a multiple of two, three or four.

    • 6). Heal your characters while continuing to attack Gilgamesh, until he is defeated.
