How to Hang a Mirror on Mortar

    • 1). Select the area of the wall where you would like to hang your mirror. From this area, find an area in the mortar between the bricks or blocks. Mark your chosen area with a piece of chalk.

    • 2). Outfit your handheld drill with a masonry bit only slightly smaller than the space between the bricks. Drill directly into the mortar about 1 inch deep.

    • 3). Run a handheld vacuum over the hole you've created to suck up all the dust. Snip with a handsaw a piece of dowel the exact same size as the drill bit you just used.

    • 4). Dip the dowel in wood glue and push it into the hole. Allow the glue to dry for two hours. Drill a pilot hole in the dowel and screw in your chosen picture hanger. Hang your mirror on the picture hanger.
