- 1). Keep in mind that recycled paint is created one of two ways: reblending or reprocessing. Reblended paint is remixed and screened and is typically available in a limited number of neutral colors. Reprocessed paint is mixed with new material and is available in a wider range of colors.
- 2). Opt for reprocessed paint for exteriors. Reblended paint is not as high quality as reprocessed paint and should be used only for interior surfaces.
- 3). Locate a recycled paint dealer in your area by searching online or calling area paint dealers.
- 4). Take a sample of the color you want to the paint store for matching.
- 5). Ask a representative at the paint store to help you select the appropriate color and brand of recycled paint for your project.
