Men"s Fashion Advice: How To Dress For Summer Sports

While it may be the dog days of summer, that doesn't mean it's time to stop working out or participating in your favorite sports.
In fact, as we realize that summer is ending, many men will try just a bit harder to get that extra time in playing outdoor sports before they're stuck inside for the long, cold winter.
However, just because a man is spending more time with his outdoor sporting pals, it doesn't mean that he should skimp on the fashion side of the sports equation, either.
Here are some no-fail tips on how to dress for your favorite summer sports in ways that allow you to be as active as you want while also looking as though you've got a great sense of fashion (and you never know what ladies may be out on the sports field!).
Golf Clothes for golf, according to Esquire magazine, should "ventilate and accommodate" your body while you're out on the course.
You want clothes that can stretch and will wick sweat away from the body so you can move freely.
For golf clothes that can work off the course, a nice pair of flat-front pants can easily substitute for the old khaki standbys.
Tennis Tennis requires more movement, so you want to make sure your tennis attire is loose and helps keep you sweat-free.
The advice of Esquire is to "Find a polyester shirt that pulls moisture from the skin and helps it evaporate.
" A decent polo shirt is also great for off-the-court activities, and if it "doesn't fall too far below your waistline, you can wear it untucked with chinos.
" Sailing Keep it casual with a fitted polo and fitted shorts as well as a wind-and water-proof jacket.
But remember safety! If you select a brightly colored jacket, not only will you be embracing the bright colors of summer, but you'll also be easier to spot if you fall overboard! And that jacket can come in handy while you're on land, too.
After all, the land near most sailing points is breezy and can feel a bit cold at times.
Hiking The key for hikers is to try and add in a little color to what you're wearing.
Sure, brown helps to keep dirt off, but blues and reds can do the same thing.
Invest in some pants that have zippers in the middle of the leg that can convert to shorts for when the weather gets warmer.
Your hiking windbreaker can be great for transitioning from a day of sporty hiking to an outdoor barbeque as well.
Light and comfortable is the name of the game.
An investment in a few staples can make your sports wardrobe interchangeable and even budget-friendly.
