How to Conclude a Hypothesis

    • 1). End the dissertation the way it starts. Start the dissertation by establishing a hypothesis. Formulate an idea of what you think the research and experiments will yield; this idea is the hypothesis. State clearly in one or two sentences what the hypothesis is.

    • 2). Do this overview at the beginning of the conclusion. If the hypothesis was proven by the research hypothesis, state this. If the research proved the hypothesis incorrect or faulty, state this in the conclusion.

    • 3). Write a summary of the preceding information in the dissertation. This should be the middle part of the concluding section. Provide an overview of the evidence presented by the research and experiments that support the hypothesis. Describe the research and experiments in a way that supports the hypothesis stated at the beginning of the dissertation.

    • 4). Write a final sentence that restates what the research showed or proved.
