Coorg also known as Kodagu is one of the few hill station located in Karnataka not commercialized and offering a peaceful and relaxing weekend getaways. This quaint little district is also known as the coffee bowl of India witness a healthy inflow of tourists annually and as such offers a wide choice of accommodation options from luxury hotels to budget hotels.

Having been to Coorg twice, I have personally stayed at Hotel Alath Cad, a budget hotel with 10 rooms, out of which three are double rooms, 3 deluxe rooms and 3 suites and 1 cottage. It is an Estate Bungalow spread out in an area of 65 acre amidst coffee and pepper plantation. A river flowing around the estate adds to the charm of the place. The hotel also offer host of amenities ensuring a pleasant stay for tourists. Amenities on offer here include golf, shopping hall, convention centre, bar service, hot and cold running water, room service, telephone satellite TV, telephone, tennis court and a multi cuisine restaurant. All major credit cards are accepted here.
On my next visit to this beautiful hill station, I opted for Hotel Gowri Niwas an ancestral home it is widely known for its hospitality. The view from the hotel is simply spectacular, the hills, moving clouds and the sunrise providing for a complete Coorg experience. Rooms over here are well arranged and are fully furnished with modern amenities. Some of these amenities include internet connection, travel desk, laundry, doctor on call, banquet hall, convention centre, tennis court, multi cuisine restaurant, currency exchange, safe deposit with cashier, direct dial telephone, hot water kettle, cable TV, attached bath and 24 hour hot and cold running water.
