How to Treat Skin Rashes
- 1). First of all, try using just a regular moisturizer on your rash. This will prevent your skin from drying out while the rash diminishes. Most skin rashes on your legs and arms only last for a few hours to a day, so buying expensive medicines is not necessary. Use a normal household moisturizing lotion and wait to see if the rash persists. Simple mousturizing is a great diaper rash cure as well.
- 2). Purchase an anti-itch cream from your local pharmacy. Anything with benadryl in it will work great to sooth itchy rashes. As I said before, most rashes are temporary and all you need is a little something to relieve the itching before they disappear.
- 3). Purchase an antihistamine like Loratadine or chlortrimeton. These medications do wonders for skin rashes caused by allergic reactions. Large red skin rashes are also best healed with antihistamines. Take the medication as directed and your rash should stop itching and clear up in a day or two.
- 4). Visit a Doctor if your rash persists. There are many different causes of skin rashes. Although very few skin rashes are actually dangerous, a few can be symptoms of more serious illnesses. Prescription medicine is sometimes needed to clear up severe rashes.
