How to Install a Trailer Wiring Kit on a Toyota Truck

    • 1). Loosen the tail lamp receptacle retaining screws. Pull the tail lamp receptacles forward to expose the tail lamp wires.

    • 2). Place a splice connector terminal over the left stop signal wire. Insert the red wire from the tail lamp converter into the splice connector and crimp the splice connector to the wire pair.

    • 3). Slip a splice connector over the left turn signal wire. Insert the yellow wire from the tail lamp converter into the splice connector and crimp the splice connector to the wire pair. Repeat this step for the right turn signal wire, splicing together the green tail lamp converter wire with the right turn signal wire.

    • 4). Place a splice connector over the left taillight signal wire. Push the free end of the brown wire from the tail lamp converter into the splice connector and crimp the splice connector to the wire pair.

    • 5). Place a splice connector terminal over the right ground wire. Insert the white wire from the tail lamp converter into the splice connector and crimp the splice connector to the wire pair.

    • 6). Reinstall the tail lamp receptacle to the vehicle. Insert and tighten the screws so that the taillight receptacles are held firmly to the vehicle.
