How to Prevent Fungus Infections
- 1). Cut back on foods that help excessive yeast to grow in the body. These foods include sugar, dairy and wheat. Of course, these foods are needed but should be used only in moderation to prevent fungal infections.
- 2). Stop drinking caffeine and alcohol. These along with any products containing nicotine are not only unhealthy, but they also produce extra yeast.
- 3). Add more garlic to diet. Garlic can actually reduce the amount of yeast in the body as it contains natural anti-fungal properties. This is an easy way to prevent a fungal infection.
- 4). Keep the skin cool and dry. Fungal infections need moisture to grow. One way to keep cool is to wear loose-fitting clothing. Tight clothes won't allow the skin to breathe.
- 5). Stop walking barefoot in public places. Locker rooms, pools and public bathrooms are all breeding grounds for fungus. Make sure to always wear a pair of flip-flops, even in the shower of the school. This will keep feet from picking up the fungus.
- 6). Keep the nails clean and cut. Fungus can get in between the nail bed and skin.
- 7). Use an anti-fungal powder in shoes if prone to getting fungal infections. This will help prevent any fungus from growing in the future and causing outbreaks.
