The NTSE is a scholarship program conducted in India that selects and nurtures intelligent students of class 10. The selection is done by conducting the examination; top scorers are awarded scholarships until the postgraduate level. To prepare for the exam, students can use NTSE papers of the previous years. The NTSE Examination Pattern
The exam consists of two sections; MAT or Mental Ability Test and SAT or Scholastic Aptitude Test. The SAT paper includes a Language test of 50 marks, Mathematics carrying 30 marks and Social Science and General Science of 35 marks each. Multiple Choice questions are asked. The examination is a challenge worth trying because the scholarship provides you financial help in the field of Social Sciences, General Science, Medicine and Engineering. A monthly stipend is offered for successful candidates. Scholarships are also given for Ph.D. However, only 1000 successful candidates are given the scholarships; each of them is given an amount of Rs 500 every month. However, there is 15% reservation for scheduled castes and 7.5% for scheduled tribes. Additionally, 3% is reserved for students who are physically challenged. A specific quota is allotted for each State and Union Territory. However, after the second level of exam, there is no quota for the States and UTs. Indian students who are studying overseas can also appear for the exams.
