How to Fix a Bathroom Ball Faucet

    • 1). Turn off the water by closing the valves under the bathroom sink.

    • 2). Take off the cap on top of the bathroom faucet handle and remove the Allen screw under it with an Allen wrench. If the faucet has no cap, simply remove the Allen screw holding the handle to the ball valve stem.

    • 3). Slide the handle off the stem of the ball valve. Loosen the plastic washer on the faucet head with a screwdriver tip, or a pair of pliers. Unscrew the bonnet cap with a pair of large pliers and remove it.

    • 4). Take off the washer and then remove the ball valve and two seat gaskets inside the faucet head. Lift each one out with the tip of the Allen wrench. Replace these two round seat gaskets with new ones.

    • 5). Insert a new ball valve inside the faucet head and replace the washer and bonnet cap. Tighten the washer with the screwdriver or pliers. Replace the handle and tighten the Allen screw with the Allen wrench.
