The Main Misconception About Weight Loss That You Should Avoid!

As a personal trainer, losing weight has been one of the most popular questions that are thrown to me.
Every person that is term as overweight or obese will want to find ways to lose weight in order to be slim again.
Most of them will either go on short term starving or try out any diet solution that promises weight loss.
Normally, these methods that they use will either show no result or even make them gain more weight.
This is because they don't understand one simple concept.
Weight loss is not equals Fat loss What you need to understand here is that losing weight and losing fat is not the same thing.
This is the part where most people get confused about.
You can lose a lot of weight but it does not means that you are losing a lot of fats, and in contrast, you can lose fats but it does not means that you are losing weight.
I notice that a lot of people when they talk about weight loss, it means that they wants to lose weight so that they can get a toned and nice figure.
This is one of the main misconceptions about weight loss because losing weight may not get you the nice figure you want.
This is because in order to lose weight, you just need to burn more calories than what your calories intake was.
But you need to take note that calories are needed for daily energy usage.
Thus when you are doing workout, you will need more calories.
So when you are not having enough calories that you required, you will lose weight, but you will also lose energy to perform daily activities.
Thus when you don't have enough energy for activities, your body will use those energy that is stored in your body to make up for the lack of energy required.
They will use up the protein and carbohydrates from your muscles which will cause your muscle mass to reduce.
So you can forget about getting the toned body that you want.
In addition, when your muscle mass are reduced, your metabolism rate will also get affected and reduce.
As we know that metabolic rate is for fat burning.
Thus when you have low metabolism rate, this means that your body is not burning fats which are not what we want.
Thus in order to get your metabolism high for fat burning, you need to consume enough energy so that you wont lose muscle mass.
A lot of people don't realize that when they are not having enough calorie intakes than required, their body will send out a signal that says "Hey lets store some calories so that we can use it when there is not enough later".
This is because your body doesn't know when you will be eating again.
So they will store those calories for later usage.
The calories that are stored will normally be stored as fat.
Thus when you are not having enough calories, you are actually storing more fats in your body.
In return, your metabolism rate will decrease further and make you fatter.
So the point here is that when you are not having enough calories, it will result to muscle mass reduction, fat gain and metabolism rate reduction which cause slow fat burning.
So in order to properly reduce your weight, you need to burn more fats by increasing your metabolism rate and consume enough calories that are healthy each day.
This will allow you to have energy all day and prevents muscle loss as muscles helps to burn fats too! The whole point about it is that in order to lose weight the way you want.
You need to focus on Fat loss and not Weight loss.
Your ultimate aim should be to lose your weight by losing the fats in your body and not losing weight by losing muscles.
Hope you guys understand and wish you the best in losing FATS!
