Scope

• The curriculum covered in PC and computer repair ranges from survey courses in computer maintenance to advanced coursework in new operating system management and web development. Specialty programs include the study of network protocols, Windows management and recovery, as well as Mac-based system repair and maintenance.
  
  

Location

• Several companies, such as CBT Direct, offer comprehensive PC repair training and certification programs online. Accredited formal training programs through technical schools, such as that of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) in North Carolina, offer PC repair training on-campus only.
  
  

Cost

• The cost of PC repair training from CBT Direct varies with the program, and an advisor calculates the cost of tuition on an individual basis. As of October, 2010, the PC Repair & A+ training course offered by RCCC lasts 60 hours, meets twice a week and costs $220 for the course and required text.
