How to Get Rid of Wrinkles at Home Naturally Using These Simple Every Day Ingredients

Wrinkles are a natural part of life's aging process.
Lines around your eyes are proof that you have laughed, frowned and expressed yourself through your experiences.
Lines and wrinkles may well be a sign of a life well lived, but it doesn't mean that you enjoy having them on display like a picture book record of your life's journey so far.
So what type of lines are there and what causes them? There are generally two types or causes of facial lines: Mechanical: Mechanical and expression laugh lines are formed through mechanical action or repeated contraction and release of the muscles in your skin especially around your eyes and mouth.
Collagen breakdown: Another type of line formation is caused through loss of hydration and the slowing of the formation and renewal of collagen in the deeper layers of skin.
Most people start to see a combination of both types of lines appearing in their late 20's or for others through their 30's, 40's and 50's.
How to hydrate skin, stimulate collagen and smooth or plump out wrinkles: Many commercial products contain hydrating and collagen stimulating active ingredients.
These are sometimes derived from natural sources that are rich in ingredients like A, C, E vitamins or marine collagen for example.
Most of these are either synthetically produced or extracted from natural sources at a significant cost to the manufacturer, a cost that is passed on to you, the end user.
Many people these days are growing wary of products that contain synthetic or chemically based ingredients because of their potential to irritate or harm skin.
Other people are concerned about the impact on the environment and the ecological cost of producing products, packaging and delivering them to store shelves.
Thankfully it's not just expensive commercially produced products that we can use to help smooth and soften lines.
There are also a large number of natural ingredients that contain high concentrations of the same or similar active constituents as high end store bought wrinkle creams.
Many eye creams contain a combination of humectants (ingredients that draw moisture to the skin) and vitamins (like vitamin A and C to rejuvenate cells and repair skin).
  • Honey and Aloe Vera are natural humectants as are some oils/waxes.
  • Essential oils like Rosehip, Avocado or Evening Primrose are rich in essential fatty acids that lock in moisture and deliver vital nutrients deep into the layers of the skin.
  • Carrot seed oil is very rich in vitamin A.
The vitamin A in Carrot seed oil is like a "cousin" of retinol A, a common ingredient used in eye wrinkle creams.
  • Essential oils like Calophyllum or Fennel oil stimulate new cell and collagen growth revealing fresher younger looking skin.
When you combine these ingredients together you can make a rich eye serum or cream that effectively delivers all of the beneficial vitamins and ingredients your skin needs.
These elements are especially important for nourishing delicate areas and softening or diminishing lines.
The top 14 ingredients I like to use for around eyes are:

You can also make your own serum recipe (to suit your skin specifically) using my facial serum wizard or use a base oil of 90% carrier oil (Rosehip, Almond, Coconut or Soyabean oil) and add "active oils" like Carrot Seed, Avocado, Evening Primrose, Neroli, Calophyllum or Fennel oils to stimulate new cell growth and repair damage.
By using oils rich in essential fatty acids in combination with essential oils you can stimulate skin and plump out dehydrated skin cells diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
As you can see, you don't have to spend a fortune on eye creams or serums to replenish much needed moisture and vitamins in your skin.
There are so many options available that allow you to make your own recipes at home, By using everyday ingredients like honey and avocado or coconut oil and adding ingredients like essential oils (these go a long way and last a very long time), you can enjoy an easy yet effective every day routine to keep lines and wrinkles at bay.
