The Definition of Cold Shod



Definition: Cold shod is when a horse is wearing shoes that were preformed and not heated and conformed to the horse's feet. The farrier still shapes them with an anvil and hammer, but does not use a forge to heat and bend the metal.

Pronunciation: k o l d sh o d

Examples: I had my horse cold shod because he can be difficult to shoe and it is a bit quicker.
