Party Planning Information - 3 Unspoken Rules That You Ought to Follow

Very often, you will find people scrambling about for more party planning information only when there is a rather large gathering of people invited over, or when the occasion is marked by a memorable event, or when there is a "need" to impress certain individuals in the party.
However, there is still a lot of be gained from planning ahead for small get-together, pajama parties or even a just a simple dinner that is supposed to be shared between two friends.
If you are indeed looking forward to hosting any kind of party at all, here are 3 rules you might want to keep close to your heart, especially if you want to avoid that last minute scramble or you just want to avoid getting stressed over your own bash.
1.
Know precisely who will be on your guest list.
Even if you throw an "impromptu" celebration, it is still important to know who the potential revelers are.
Your guest list will sometimes dictate your selection for food, drinks and decor.
Naturally enough, if you are throwing a children's party, you should not serve alcoholic drinks or adult themed décor (not even to please their parents.
) At the same time, some kids will probably get bored stiff or discombobulated if you serve them a formal dinner without so much as a warning beforehand.
Always streamline your food and drink selections according to what you think your guests might like.
If you are planning on a food themed celebration (cheese and wine tasting, for example) make sure that your guests know precisely what they are in for should they decide to come.
The decor should follow whatever theme you have chosen but again, make sure that you give your guests a shout out about what is to be expected of them.
It is quite all right to share party planning information with some of your guests even and especially if it is supposed to be a "surprise" celebration.
2.
Plan for unexpected guests.
The perfect host or hostess is gracious enough to invite in unannounced guests who may already be at the threshold of the party.
Although some people really do not mind having more people over, formal dinners or intimate celebrations may be thrown off a bit by the appearance of one or two (or more) unexpected guests.
In order not to stress yourself or anyone else around you, always try to plan ahead for two more callers.
Planning may include setting aside more food and drinks, and keeping an extra placement or two at the dinner table.
3.
Do everything ahead of time.
There is nothing against the rule book against decorating your place ahead of time.
This will help lighten your load considerably since you are not cramming everything in those few hours before the party.
At the same time, this will give you an idea if the decor works or not.
Cook and bake beforehand as well.
If you are indeed planning on making the food yourself, as opposed to hiring caterers, you might want to cook or precook some of the goodies on your menu.
Some cakes and pastries will keep overnight, while other foods can be cooked the night before and then heated successfully, just in time for the celebration.
