Fasting to Lose Weight - How Long Will it Take Me to Lose Weight by Fasting?

There is a new fad growing in popularity by leaps and bounds, and that is fasting to lose weight.
Many people are jumping on this bandwagon thinking they are going to become a size 2 in the matter of weeks.
Unfortunately, there is a flaw in this method.
Well of course you are going to lose some weight while fasting because your body is taking in very few calories (or no calories) and is still burning calories.
But the problem is your brain is now going to tell your body that it is starving and should begin to conserve energy.
This means your metabolism is going to slow way down.
What does this mean? It means that yes you are taking in few or no calories but your body is now burning very few calories.
And to make matters worse, your slow metabolism is going to continue even after you go back to your normal eating.
So guess what? You'll end up gaining weight as soon as you start eating again.
Another serious issue with fasting to lose weight is that you tend to get on a fasting merry go round.
What I mean by that is you tell yourself you're only going to fast and lose just a couple of pounds.
But once you lose those pounds you think oh maybe I'll just try and drop another pound or two.
Then when you begin eating again you gain all the weight back plus extra, leading you to decide, oh now I need to fast again.
This can lead to a very serious eating disorder.
The best way to lose all the weight you need is the old-fashioned tried and true method of cutting back your calories and exercising a little more.
Yes it may be boring and it may be tedious but it really is the healthiest thing you can do to drop weight.
Furthermore, this is something you can stick with forever.
Fasting to lose weight may be quicker but it really is a dangerous fad that you should avoid.
