PhD programs are offered by Emory University through its Goizueta Business School, Laney Graduate School, School of Medicine, Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, and Rollins School of Public Health. Students admitted into doctorate programs at Emory University receive scholarships and stipends. Each PhD program offers different financial support to admitted students. Most doctorate programs offer a minimum award of full-tuition scholarships for the first two years and stipends for up to two years. The Goizueta Business School offers PhD programs in Business Administration. The doctoral programs offered through the Goizueta Business School are full-time, four-year programs in accounting, finance, information systems, marketing and organization and management. The Goizueta Business School rarely accepts graduate credits from other doctoral programs. Scholarships and stipends are awarded to most students during the first four years of their studies, provided they are in good standing and making satisfactory progress. In 2010, the annual stipend offered by the Goizueta Business School was $24,000. Beginning in the second year, students provide 10 hours per week of research or teaching assistance to assigned faculty. The Goizueta Business School has a research budget for Ph.D students to be used for research support including data collection, books and travel. For students who have completed their exams and need additional dissertation support, the Goizueta Business School offers the Sheth Research Fund. Rollins School of Public Health offers PhD degree programs in behavioral sciences and health education, biostatistics, epidemiology, health policy and management, health care outcomes, and health services. Emory University's School of Medicine offers PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering, which is a a joint effort between Georgia Tech and the Emory University School of Medicine and the Laney Graduate School. Laney's Graduate Institute of the Liberal Arts offers PhD programs in women's studies, clinical psychology, cognition and development, and neuroscience and animal behavior.
