Treating Acne: Bath Home Remedy
- A back-scrubbing brush can be purchased from any grocery or beauty store and can help cleanse areas of the body that are hard to reach. Once the bath tub is full of warm water, lather the back-scrubbing brush with a gentle soap designed for sensitive skin types. This type of soap will clean the skin without causing irritation or inflammation. Apply the soap using the back-scrubbing brush, making sure to use a gentle touch. Avoid scrubbing the brush too vigorously on the skin, a simple lather will do. Rinse the skin well with water once the whole area has been cleansed. Cleanse the skin in this manner twice per day.
- Baking soda is helpful in killing off acne-causing bacteria and reducing inflammation in the skin. To treat body acne with baking soda, 1 to 2 cups can be added to a bath tub filled with warm water. Soak in the baking soda water for at least 15 minutes. Baking soda also acts as an exfoliant and can be scrubbed gently onto the skin to help remove dead skin cells. There is no need to rinse off the skin once the soak is finished; simply allow it to air dry naturally. Use a baking soda soak up to two times per day.
- Tea-tree oil helps dry up acne and prevent acne-causing bacteria from infecting the skin as well as benzoyl peroxide, but without the damaging side effects, like peeling, itching or dryness. To use tea-tree oil on body acne, fill an empty and clean shampoo bottle half way up with water, and add to it 10 drops of pure tea-tree oil. Shake the bottle well to combine the two substances. Squeeze the bottle onto the areas of the body that are affected by acne while in a bath tub full of warm water. Dry off as usual, leaving the diluted tea-tree oil on the skin. You can apply a tea-tree oil solution in this manner once per day.
