Cubicle Decoration Tips

A cubicle often is a small space in which an employee has a computer, a filing cabinet and an in-box. This is not a very personal space. If the business allows personal effects, decorating the cubicle with pictures of the family, small plants and gifts created by the children make the work space feel more welcoming. Work productivity could rise if the employee feels the space is a comfortable extension of home. - Remember the old saying: less is more. That adage applies to work spaces in that overabundance of cubicle decor could become distracting; however, if you desire a cubicle theme, it can be done simply. Using velcro, attach a monitor screen frame to the outside of the monitor. Using the same design as on the monitor screen frame, replace the mouse pad and picture frames in the cubicle. A chair cover, border for the cubicle opening and a cabinet frame could also use the same pattern.
- Decorating the cubicle might not be enough to encourage hard work and diligence. Decorating the cubicle to look as though it is actually a hard-earned office space might be the trick to high productivity. Decorating with a false window, a cloth backdrop to change the wall color and elegant appliances and bookshelves can make a cubicle seem as though it is a corner office in a high-rise building.
- A professional decor, such as a simple plant or a silver picture frame, can provide the positive attitude needed for productivity just as well as a fun decor. If the person inside the cubicle is easily distracted by the fun parts of their life, it is best for his work space to refrain from temptations of daydreaming and reminiscing about his time away from the office. Keeping a professional decor of simple items deters such behavior. A lamp, a plant and one picture of the family or loved ones are sufficient decoration for concentration.
