5 Ways to Burn Fat During the Holidays
Are you fed up with gaining unnecessary amounts of weight during the holiday season? You don't have to put up with this annoying reality any longer.
In this article I will discuss 5 simple tips that you can use to lose.
People gain about 5 to 10 pounds over the holiday season because our defenses come down with the many excuses that we use to justify "eating to enjoy life".
Below are 5 simple tricks I use to help my clients stay slim and healthy before, during and after the holiday season.
Tip #1: Sit with strategy Every host has their own way of setting the table for your next upcoming holiday feast.
Your goal is to sit as far away as possible from any temptation that will ruin your weight loss goal.
Try to make your seat the closest to wholesome, healthy foods.
This way, you will be less likely to take the easy way out and pile the foods that you know you shouldn't be eating on your plate.
Be sure to stay away from snacks and finger foods.
These "foods", which are nothing more than convenient garbage, will sabotage your weight loss goals quickly.
Tip #2: Eat before eating If you don't prepare your own food you have zero control over what ingredients are used to season and flavor that food.
Our goal over the Holiday Season is to minimize the high calorie garbage that has made it's way into our favorite dishes around the holidays.
The only way we can do this effectively is if we have a healthy meal prior to eating anywhere else that we may not have control over the food we eat.
So, before you head over to your favorite family member or friends house, be sure to eat a little something that will keep hunger away.
This way, you can be more selective when the evil food sits in front of you rather than diving in due to starvation! Tip #3: Drink more water than usual Drinking high calorie beverages is the biggest mistake that honest weight loss champions make during the holidays.
I recommend balancing your caloric drinks with double the amount of water if you are serious about losing weight during the seasons we love.
If you have an 8 ounce caloric drink (soda, alcohol, etc.
), this would mean consuming at least 16 ounces of water either before or immediately after.
Tip #4: Bring a healthy dish Going somewhere that you know you will never get access to a healthy dish? Why not force your friends and family to feel guilty about their horrible eating habits and inspire them to reach for higher goals? Hey, someone has to do it and it might as well be you.
Don't feel ashamed of the pursuit of your goals just to avoid offending someone else's eating habits.
Your discipline could be the inspiration they need to avoid a current lifestyle that may lead them down the terrible road of heart disease.
Inspire your friends and family by having the discipline to bring a healthy alternative.
Tip #5: Get physical before you eat Getting your heart rate up a few hours prior to eating a large calorie meal could be a great solution for you as well.
With this trick, you are going to rely on the mental reinforcement of getting active to help push you through those times of temptation.
You will be less likely to eat unhealthy if you have a great workout prior to your dinner party.
Sometimes I even have my clients do massive amounts of abdominal exercise so they can feel the soreness in their abs as they chow down at the dinner table.
This way, they are reminded of their goals every time the laugh or move! These are just a few simple tips to keep in mind.
Having fun around the holidays does not mean that you have to discard your weight loss goals.
Rather, use these simple tips to eat healthy, hearty, and have fun!
