How to Make the Difference Between Bed Bugs and Bed Mites

Asking people about bed mites you will hear them saying that they do not know anything about these insects while others can easily mistake them for bed bugs.
But why people tend to mistake one for another, could it be because they are similar? In order to prevent your life of becoming allergic due to the presence of these bugs, you should know how to make the difference, as certainly there is a difference.
The main feature that make them distinct from one another is the feeding stuff: while bed bugs feed with human blood, bed mites feed with only dead skin and hair.
Bed bugs are known to live and hide in spaces that are very often in close contact with human body, such as bed, couch, sofas, chairs, etc.
When they feed, meaning when they suck your blood, they will go out of their hiding place during the night and bite you, but this bite won't be felt.
What is there that you can feel is the itchy sensation that will develop into rashes, not to mention that to many people they can develop allergies.
Bed bugs bites are most of the times similar to the flea bite and the allergic evolution can be generated as a result of the toxins that these bed bugs carry in their saliva.
Although, generally speaking, these bites are not that harmful, they still can lead to rashes that develop later in hives for the sensitive ones.
As to the bed mites, they are similar to dust mites and they are known to live out of dead tissue.
But although they are not the biting type, many people are known to become allergic to bed mites or maybe better to their droppings, as some scientists conclude.
If you come to think of this aspect, you would pretty soon understand that you are sleeping in the droppings of other creatures and as such your body tends to react through this form of allergic reactions.
Keeping your mattress and bedding clean will lead to keeping these bed mites away.
With new technologies emerging lately, you can find also string suction vacuum cleaners that can easily suck these creatures out of the bed mattresses.
A steamer device is another option to clean the bedding, but after they are dead you should also clean the surface of their dead bodies.
Apart from these, other products are available on the market in the format of spray and powder, but you should make sure first that they are not dangerous for human health.
Therefore you should read carefully the instructions of the product label and in case your actions are still left unsuccessful, then you would better call a professional to assist you into getting rid of these bothering creatures.
