- 1). Fill a medium saucepan with 4 cups of water. Place the pan on the stove, and bring the water to a boil.
- 2). Add 1 cup granulated white sugar to the pan. Stir constantly with a spoon until the sugar has dissolved completely.
- 3). Remove the pan from the heat. Allow it to cool for a few hours to room temperature.
- 4). Fill your hummingbird feeder with the homemade liquid nectar. Store any unused portion of the liquid in the refrigerator in an air-tight container for up to two weeks.
