The Average Sink Dimensions
- Standard bathroom vanity sink cabinets come in a wide variety of styles. Sink basins can be part of the countertop or separate from it, either installed in a hole in the top or sitting on top of it. Materials range from wood to plastic to marble and granite.
Common dimensions for bathroom bowls are 18 to 24 inches wide, 14 to 20 inches long and 4 to 6 inches deep. They come in round, oval, square and scalloped shapes. - The standard widths of a kitchen sink are 22 to 25 inches with a length of 30 to 33 inches and a depth of 21 inches. The addition of soap dishes, sprayers or hot water outlets affects these dimensions. Kitchen sinks come in single, double, triple bowl and corner bowl designs. The sizes may be equal or vary, so that one side is used for peeling and preparation while the other is larger to hold pots, pans and dishes.
Kitchen sinks are made of durable materials like enamel, stainless steel, ceramic, plastic, marble or soapstone. There are three main types depending on where they sit in their cabinet: apron sinks where the front is exposed, above-counter sinks and undermount styles installed below the counter. - Deep laundry tubs are helpful in areas when washers and dryers take care of average fabrics, but special items like shoes, curtains, heavy blankets or tarps need washing in large tubs.

Sinks in working areas can be as large as laundry tubs, but there is also need for smaller sinks to wash paint, oil and other hard-to-remove items from hands and arms.
Hand sinks placed in mud rooms or small half-baths are commonly 25 inches wide and 22 inches deep and made of stainless steel to resist staining.
