Simple Ways to Develop Confidence in Singing

Many of us love to sing, but would never dare to sing in front of other people.
If we did, we would probably just use some funny voice instead in order to spare ourselves the possible embarrassment of having our real singing voices being heard by others.
If you love to sing and would like to feel more confident about saying "hear me singing", this article may be able to help you share your real voice.
Anytime you allow someone to hear you sing, it is like sharing a special part of yourself with that person.
It takes confidence to do this and it usually is not possible to sing well if you do not have this confidence.
Before you sing in front of anyone, make sure that you feel comfortable doing so.
Do not force it.
When we hear ourselves speak or sing, we do not hear ourselves in the same manner that others hear us.
This is because we listen to ourselves through a mixture of bone conduction and air conduction.
This means the sound that travels to our ears is a mix of internal and external sound, with the internal sound being louder than the latter.
Other people hear us only through air conduction, or rather, external sound only.
In order to hear ourselves in the same way that they do, we must listen to ourselves through an external device.
To get an idea of your singing voice, you can do several things.
You can record your voice and then play it back to yourself or you can monitor yourself through headphones as you sing.
The advantage of using headphones is that you can respond to what you are hearing in real time and attempt to improve your singing right then and there.
To gain confidence, practice is key.
You can practice alone by monitoring and recording yourself or you can hire a teacher.
There are many people who will do this for a reasonable fee and some free online video lessons.
The advantage of having a real teacher is that he or she can give you actual feedback on what you are doing and tips to help you improve.
Continuously record your voice as it progresses.
When you feel that the recordings are good enough to share with others, it might be time to try singing in front of other people.
Chances are that if you think your voice is good, others will too.
