Website Traffic Building Help

Website traffic is an essential part of any online business or website.
Lets face it without website traffic your websites contents and what you have to offer on your site will never be seen.
There are many ways to get website traffic to your website or blog, the most common is SEO or search engine optimization.
There are also many other ways to get traffic to your website which include Pay Per Click advertising, Forum posting, and Social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
Now there are other ways to generate traffic to your website such as buying a program that shows you how to get traffic.
But lets just cover PPC, Forum posting, and Social networking since they are very popular.
So lets talk a little bit about PPC and how it generates traffic to your website.
PPC advertising is when you pay every time someone clicks on an ad you are running with either Google or one of the other PPC advertising companies out there.
This is a great way to get a ton of traffic to your website the downside is it can be very costly.
You really need to know what you are doing to get the best pay per click price.
Now when I first started out I remember paying about 5 cents or less per click.
I have seen the cost per click all the way up to $5 per click.
Now if you stop and think about it at $5 per click and not every click being a guaranteed sale you may end up losing money.
But like I said it is a way to drive a lot of traffic to your site.
Just learn how to use the keyword tool and maybe bid on some of the less common keywords.
Forum posting is a great way to get some free traffic to your website or blog.
Not only is it a way to advertise your site it is a great research tool also.
Although it is cheaper than PPC advertising it is also a little more time consuming.
You will have to post to advertise and most forums do not allow you to advertise directly they allow for you to put a link to your site in your signature.
As long as you are posting interesting stuff it will draw attention to you and people will click on your link.
Then we have social networking sites these are a great place to pick up some great traffic.
I use a link shortening site to make my links smaller and cloaked it helps out a lot in Twitter because you are only allowed 140 characters per post, you will need all the extra characters to pitch your pitch.
No matter which way you go SEO, PPC, Forum posting, Social networking sites and whichever other traffic building method you follow make sure you do your research so you have somewhat of an idea on what you are up against before you start.
