Decorating The Bathroom - How To Create Your Own Wellness Oasis

Someone who is telling you, the bathroom in a home does not need a lot of attention when it comes about home decorating, is for sure giving you a wrong advice.
The bathroom is one of busiest, if not even that busiest room in a home and should also be a place for you to find relaxation and relief from the every days stress. You probably will agree with me, nothing is more relaxing than having a nice bubble bath in a bathtub filled with cozy warm water. This can still be improved by filling the room with aromatic fragrances and the use of special bath salts.

But only a cozy bubble bath itself won't make the bathroom a wellness oasis. The use of decor and accents, the right selection of the furniture, wall decor, bathroom rugs or shower curtains is, what gives the room that special touch. The right decor and furnishings but also the lighting are as important to make you feel cozy and comfortable in your bathroom. The right furniture pieces like wall mounted cabinets, in which you can store towels, wash cloths but furthermore even cosmetic accessories and tools are as important as wall mirrors, decorative and stylish towel holders, maybe a nice corner rack or even a wall shelf. A smaller cabinet, used as a medicine cabinet, could be added to your bathroom as well. It's a good place for you to store your First Aid Kit for any emergencies and any other medication, so it always will be handy and can be found quickly by everyone living in your household.

Especially in a smaller bathroom and not having room enough for a big vanity, you can install a wall cabinet with mirror doors, a wall shelf or console direct above the sink to store all your utensils like a tooth brush holders but also all the cosmetic accessories for the daily use.

The otherwise cold tile floor can be accented with a couple tasteful designed bathroom rugs. Towel holders, rings or racks, matching the styles and designs of the other furniture, should always be installed in locations, so they can easily be reached from your sink, bathtub or shower. Some small figurines, a few sea shells in a decorative bowl, a decorative candle and the use of decorative hand towels as additional accents, are only a few more suggestions for you to spruce up the feel and look of your bathroom.

There are a lot of home and garden decor stores offering a wide selection of beautiful bathroom decor sets in different designs and styles, they will help dressing up a bathroom. Also a nice looking Bath & Body Gift Set Basket is always an eye catcher.
Actually there are no limitations on themes how you can decorate a bathroom. Bathroom decor design styles and themes are ranging among many other from contemporary modern, over rustic and cabin style to beach style or safari style. They are almost countless and each theme has it's own beauty. Always remember, it is your bathroom and only you will know what theme will fit the best your personality and style, what will make you feel comfortable the most and what you will meet your taste the best. Decorating your bathroom/s doesn't mean you have to get broke over it. Even on a small budget you can make all the difference in the world to the look and feel of any room.

The right amount of lighting is another fact that has a big influence on how you will feel in your bathroom. You want make for sure, you always to have enough light, in example for putting your makeup on or shaving. On the other hand, I doubt you will like a really bright light while having a relaxing bubble bath. So think about to place a nice little lamp or wall light that provides the just right amount of light for that. Just make sure, for safety reasons and to prevent death or injury through electrical shock, never ever place any lamps or other electrical devices that requires a wall plug, close to your bath tub.
I couldn't think of anything that would be more relaxing, than having a cozy bubble bath in a bathroom only illuminated by the light of a few candles and the air filled by the scent of an aroma oil, released from an oil warmer.

Now that you probably are having an idea or vision of how you can design your bathroom for that new look and feel, there is one more thing you should consider to add. House plants - that very own way of accenting a room. So they for sure shouldn't be missing in your new wellness oasis either. Plants will not just add a special touch, they will also bring nature and life into your bathroom. I'm certain, there is a way for you to place a stylish flower pot or planter on a corner shelf or cabinet, if not even on the floor. In fact, even imitation plants and flowers can do the trick and make a great substitution to the real plants.

As you hopefully can see now, it doesn't take really much more than some creativity, imagination and maybe a little fantasy to transform any bathroom into your very own and self designed and decorated wellness oasis.
Have fun decorating and enjoy!
