Acne: There Is A Less Expensive Way To Clear Your Skin
My acne was manageable in my teens.
But, in my early twenties (in the early 80s), I started to see "adult" acne emerge.
It was much deeper in the skin and hurt when touched.

She put me on Desquam-x (prescription strength topical Benzoyl Peroxide) and Tetracycline.
This protocol worked for one year.
Then, I had a bad flare-up.
The medicine I was using made no difference at all.
The dermatologist doubled my Tetracycline dosage.
My skin still did not improve.
So, I began to look into what caused acne to begin with.
I found this amazing book called "Clear Skin" by Kenneth L.
Flandermeyer MD.
I have not seen it in print for some time.
But, you can sometimes find it at used book retailers and Amazon.
It's really interesting that this book was written about three decades ago.
And, the information in it was not known by most people.
Today, the process of acne and how you can interrupt it is fairly well known.
Plus, there are a number of products on the market that are specifically for clearing your skin and limiting or eliminating future acne breakouts.
What I'd like for you to understand is, you need not pay a lot of money to clear your skin and control your acne.
If you want to try to spend less, the challenge may be to correctly classify the oiliness of your skin, identify the right cleanser strength and the frequency of washings.
For me, I have to use the cleanser full strength twice a day in order to sufficiently break up the kind of oil that forms on my face.
This regimen would cause too much irritation for anyone that does not have thick skin and oil.
The cleanser's active ingredients are 2% sulfur and 2% salicylic acid.
These ingredients are in Sebulex which is technically a Medicated Dandruff Shampoo, This product can be ordered from internet pharmacies.
We all are trying to control our cost of living.
And, every cost, big and small does add up.
A bottle of Sebulex costs about $12.
Even using it full strength, this one bottle will last me 6 months.
If I buy two at the same time for one year and I have to pay $5.
