How to Remove a Fiberglass Bathtub

    • 1). Shut off the house's main hot- and cold-water valve handles, rotating them completely clockwise. The water shutoff is usually next to your water softener and hot water heater tanks.

    • 2). Fit the rubber-gripped pipe wrench on any faucets that extend through the fiberglass bathtub side walls. The faucets are usually separate from the tub on the wall. Unscrew the faucets counterclockwise and remove them from the bathtub.

    • 3). Unscrew the drain cover with the proper screwdriver. Run the utility knife around the caulk seal on the bathtub drain pipe that connects to drain pipe below the bathtub.

    • 4). Run the utility knife around the caulk seal around the perimeter of the bathtub that seals it to the bathtub frame or wall and floor it is up against.

    • 5). Pry the fiberglass bathtub up and away from the bathtub frame or wall and floor with the crowbar.

    • 6). Lift the bathtub up on each end with a friend and carry it out of the bathroom.
