- 1). Open the freezer door and locate the ice dispenser in the upper corner of the freezer compartment. Move food and other items out of the way for clear access.
- 2). Inspect the ice maker feeler arm or the ice maker paddle arm. This metal arm with an attached paddle is just in front of the ice maker where the maker meets the ice bin.
- 3). Move the paddle arm to the down position. It should drop easily and hang loosely. If the paddle arm cannot be moved all the way down, proceed to the next step.
- 4). Remove ice from the ice bin, especially if the ice level is above the top of the bin. Overfilled ice bins can lead to ice clumping and difficulties producing ice. Reposition the paddle arm so it hangs down toward the ice bin.
