Children"s Area Rugs - Options

In an attempt to liven up a play room or play area, many parents invest in children's area rugs.
Not only can they provide a child with a safer and more comfortable play space over hardwood, laminate, or tile floors, most children's area rugs double as toys and can help to educate and entertain a kid.
There are many options when it comes to these rugs.
Below are the most important ones to consider when looking to buy one for your home.
1) Size and shape.
Unlike traditional area carpets that usually come in standard sizes like 8'x10' or 10'x12', kids area rugs can come in a variety of sizes and shapes.
Pre measure the area you plan to place the rug and decide ahead of time what shape you want.
Round, square, rectangular and triangular options are plentiful.
2) Material.
Olefin, nylon and wool are the most common materials used, but you can choose from cotton or polyester ones as well.
The cotton and polyester varieties are machine washable.
This feature can come in very handy, especially when kids will be playing on them often.
3) Design.
One of the things kids like best about these carpets is the design or print that is on them.
There are a lot of options here.
There are some designed specifically for boys, others for girls, some based on movies or tv shows, others are double as large game boards.
They can educate your kids as well as provide them with activities and games to play.
