Bed Bug Infestation? Five Tips to Rid Your Home of Bed Bugs

Are you suffering from a bed bug infestation? Try these tips to get rid of the bugs once and for all! 1)Throw away your mattresses Yes I know that in today's economy, we all need to be a little more careful.
But honestly, can you see yourself sleeping comfortably on that bed again? Personally I would dump the whole lot, bed frame and all but I think my hubby would divorce me.
But you would never get me to sleep on a mattress that has once been occupied by bugs.
Never! 2)Clean every surface in your home and then go back and do it again.
Go through every single room in your home and clean it like it has never been cleaned before.
You need to vacuum everywhere including the walls and skirting boards.
Then get a steam cleaner and redo the whole room again.
Bugs hate high temperatures.
You need to dry clean or wash all your clothes, bedding, curtains and fabrics too.
3)Call in the professionals Do not try to treat an infestation yourself.
You could spend weeks cleaning and discover that these little creatures are still in residence.
Using boric acid and other home preparations can be dangerous as a lot of people have allergic reactions.
The extermination experts have seen it all before and can take care of it in a matter of hours.
You will need to complete step 2 above first though to get the best from the professional treatment.
4)Keep your home spic and span These pests are not usually linked to bad housekeeping practices but now that you know your home is bug free, keep it in pristine condition.
Not only is a clean house easier to maintain but you should notice any new pest problems very quickly.
With these particular creatures, the earlier the detection the easier they are to deal with.
5)Try to identify the source of the original infestation Bed bugs don't fly so they had to have been transported into your home either in your clothes or perhaps more realistically in your luggage.
If you or your partner travels regularly, always inspect your hotel room for signs of bedbugs.
Keep your suitcase closed when not in use and do not leave it or your clothes lying on the bed or a chair.
When you do get home, empty your case in the backyard, weather permitting, or the kitchen and check that you haven't picked up any unwelcome guests on your travels.
Follow these five tips and you should be rid and stay free of your bed bug infestation in no time.
