How to Match a Sofa With Drapes
- 1). Collect some different paint chips that you think match with the colors of your sofa. Choose some that you are not too sure about just to give you a wide variety. You may surprise yourself and find some interesting color combinations.
- 2). Bring the paint chips home and line them up on your sofa. Throw away the paint chips that do not look good at all. Narrow down the colors that you do like.
- 3). Take a digital picture of your sofa that you can either keep on your cell phone or print out so that you can take it to the store with you. Make the sofa in the picture look as big as possible. Use the photo to help you choose what drapes will look best.
- 4). Take the paint chips to the store when you are ready to buy your drapes or to buy fabric to make your drapes.
- 5). Use the paint chips as guides on what colors will look good with your sofa. Choose opposite fabrics for drapes than used in your sofa, such as choose drapery prints if your sofa is all one color or choose a plain color if your sofa has a lot of different colors running through it.
