- If you're visiting one of the cities on the Pacific coast, like Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Penasco or Puerto Vallarta, sign up for a trip with a professional whale watching company. Many of them have marine biologists on staff to answer all your questions. The Mexican government regulates whale-watching activities in Mexican waters to ensure the safety of the animals, so if you do go on an expedition, make certain your tour company is licensed by the government.
- If you're staying at a seaside location, you're very likely to find a dolphin discovery or dolphin experience nearby. Many dolphin facilities offer a variety of experiences, so you can choose just how close up you want to get with them. If your comfortable with petting them on the nose from the edge of the pool, that's great; if you want to get in the water and swim around with them, that's also doable.

Men in broad-brimmed hats and fitted jackets show off their ability to ride, wrestle and rope. Skirt-clad women compete in a side-saddle show of precision riding. Very often, the event will include Mariachi music.
