Rooster is an 8-year-old registered Quarter Horse gelding abandoned by his previous owner. Rooster and I had an instant connection. Unbeknown to me, he had spent nine months in a locked stall (owner non-payment) then was put in an outside pen for three months. I first noticed him outside when I began going to the stables this summer and he was literally covered with fly bites everywhere. His hooves were three inches too long so I had a farrier do his feet.

Since then, I have purchased him. He is sensitive to ride and very patient with my relative inexperience. He trail rides and can go on forever! Gelded late, he has just enough spice to liven things up from time to time and I love it. He loves to 'snuzzzle,' and will gently rest his head on my shoulder. And he now has a black halter! I just turned the big 6 0 so I figure we will live out our lives together. What a way to go!
