Ideas for a Preschool Valentine's Day Bulletin Board

    Sweet Treats

    • Cut a giant heart out of construction or butcher paper. Edge it with lace, or create a fancy border around the heart with Valentine's Day stickers. Try to make it look like a box of Valentine's Day candy. Then place photos of your students' faces in the heart, lined up like pieces of candy. Make sure the pictures you use will not embarrass the students (closed or red eyes). Underneath, write "Mrs. Teacher's Sweet Treats (Hearts)" or any other title you can come up with.

    What Is Love?

    • Create a board that shows why love is a verb. Talk to the children about what love is, then have each student draw a picture of how someone shows love. This could be with a hug, by helping someone, or anything else the children think of. Hang the pictures on the bulletin board. On the top of the board, create the title, "Love is . . ." Under each picture, write what the picture is saying about love.

    School Spirit

    • Create a bulletin board that illustrates why the students love school. Put a title on the board that says, "We Love Our School!" Then have each child write what he loves about school on a heart. If you don't want to use hearts, try creating chocolate "kisses" out of foil. Create a kiss pattern, cut it out of cardstock and cover it with the foil. Since you can't write on foil, you will have to type up what the children love, along with their names, and glue each statement onto one of the foil kisses.
