At Home Photography Colleges
- The Academy of Art University was founded in 1929 and started offering online courses in 2002. It offers a certificate, associate, bachelor and master degree in photography. Tuition for online courses is the same as on-campus courses. The school's online program has a limited class size, promoting student and professor interaction.
- The Art Institute of Pittsburgh was founded in 1921 and has over 40 locations throughout the United States. Its online division offers 16 academic degree programs, including a bachelor of science in photography. Each course is fast-paced and lasts approximately five-and-a-half-weeks. Classes cover the elements of image production and manipulation, and prepares students for entry-level jobs in photography.
- Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is located in Savannah, Ga., but has campuses worldwide. It offers online bachelor and master of arts degrees in photography. Courses are 10 weeks long and follow the college's academic calendar. Students learn color and black-and-white techniques, studio and location lighting and a variety of camera systems.
- Stratford Career Institute was established in 1991 and offers over 60 courses through its distance learning program. Courses are career focused, low-cost and short-paced. In the photography program, students learn about lighting, perspective, styles, color and digital photography. Text books and study guides are delivered by mail, and instructors are available by phone and email.
