How to Clean Painted Walls Without Leaving Streaks

    • 1). Dust your walls from top to bottom with a microfiber duster. Starting at the top keeps dry dust and dirt from falling on sections you've already dusted.

    • 2). Mix washing soda with water to make a paste. Use a sponge and paste to clean ink or pencil marks, smudges or other stains from the walls. The washing soda is a mild abrasive and will not damage flat wall paint.

    • 3). Mix 1/2 cup of Borax in a gallon of warm water. Borax is a mild cleanser and won't remove paint from the walls. Dip a sponge in the mixture and start cleaning the walls from the bottom to the top. Keep a clean, dry cloth handy for wiping up any drips of cleaning solution. Drips are easier to clean off a clean wall than a dirty one, reducing streaks.
