First Create a Website That is SEO Friendly
Instead of worrying so much about links, social sites, blogs, articles etc, after creating our website, we should take the time during the design stages to get our website SEO compliant.
I am of the firm belief that great content overcomes almost all obstacles (everything else being equal), but great content in combination with sound SEO techniques make your site even more potent.
Most beginners in their excitement of creating their first website(s), will rush into it with very little thought or planning.
(I have been guilty of doing the same.
) Just the thrill of having your website live on the Internet is so powerful that our mind will not allow us to focus on the importance of fully grasping the value of pre planning.
For our site to impress the search engines we should concentrate on our web pages and how they are put together to form our website.

- Ensure the Title on each page matches the content on the page.
- Meta Description is correctly filled out to reflect our page
- Meta Keywords to match to the content of our page (generally I like to write the content first and then find the keywords to match it).
- Use the H1, H2, H3...
Tags effectively - Content is KING - In my opinion of all the things on a website, this is the most crucial.
Without good content the site worthless.
You may have all the SEO techniques mastered, but if content is lacking then eventually the website will drop in rating. - Build HTML Site-map for your visitors, this allows your users to find stuff on your site easily.
- Build XML Site-map for the Robots, this lets the search engines to view all your web pages
- Have a Search Box, so users can find what they are looking for quickly and readily
- Ensure Easy Navigation layout, so visitors to your site can move around smoothly and are aware of their location at all times
- Build a Trust Worthy Site, where customers feel safe and comfortable.
