Urinary Incontinence Products for Men

Urinary incontinence is the inability to control urine voiding/passing; it is the involuntary leakage of urine. It has been estimated by some researchers that over 200 million people worldwide suffer from urinary incontinence, and it is believed that over 25 million people in the United States suffer from urinary incontinence, with about 80% being females.

Urinary incontinence is not a disease that only plagues the old and it is not a natural process that occurs with aging; it occurs in children, adolescents, young adults as well as senior citizens, it occurs in both men and women, but it does occur more often in women than men. Urinary incontinence is a symptom of another problem that involves the urinary tract. The urinary track consists of the kidneys, ureter tubes, bladder, and the urethra. Bacteria are the underlining cause behind urinary tract infections; oftentimes bacteria will enter the urinary tract through the urethra and travel through the urinary tract up to the bladder and even to the kidneys. Without receiving medical treatment in a timely fashion, the kidneys can become permanently damaged and unable to function properly.

The kidneys are responsible for cleansing the blood of all waste, extra water and other impurities, all the while putting back into the blood useful elements (sodium, phosphate, potassium) in the proper proportion that is needed in order to keep the body running smoothly. The kidneys also release several vital hormones that are extremely critical in keeping the body healthy and functioning properly. Without the proper functioning of the kidneys death is imminent, that is why dialysis machines are so critical to those whose kidneys have failed; without dialysis the blood would continue to carry waste and other impurities throughout the body and back to the heart which would quickly result in death. The only other alternative to being on a dialysis machine is to receive a kidney transplant; however, it is possible for a person to live a normal life with one good kidney.

For many men who suffer with urinary incontinence their quality of life has been altered significantly. To avoid the possibility of public and social embarrassment some men choose to live their lives in isolation and seclusion which all to often leads to emotional and psychological disorders that only add to their level of misery. Families become torn and heartbroken while they watch their love one agonize in a self imposed prison that seemingly offers no way out.

But today, there is a wide range of help that is available to help practically all men who suffer from male urinary incontinence. There are medical procedures today that was not available just a short time ago, and in addition to medical procedures there are a  number of  medications that have proven effective in the management and control of urinary leakage, and for many a complete cure has been the rainbow after a dark and violent storm.
